  Ebola - Could Vitamin C Help?

Hemorrhagic illnesses (such as Ebola) cause hemorrhage because they rapidly metabolize and deplete ascorbate (vitamin C) needed to maintain arterial collagen. In other words, Ebola causes scurvy: arterial collagen collapses, arteries hemorrhage, and the patient dies.

The implications here are enormous: if what I state above is true, then rapid intravenous doses of vitamin C could literally save every Ebola patient, and fortifying the populations of the afflicted country with large-dose oral vitamin C might eradicate the disease.

In an article written in 2006, Dr. Robert Cathcart, who was the foremost expert on intravenous vitamin C, suggested 180-200 gram infusions once per day.
